Facchini S/A, the seventh-largest manufacturer of road equipment in the world and a benchmark in industrial innovation, began to implement SAP Sustainability Control Tower, a cloud-based solution that centralizes and automates sustainability data management.
With ten factories in Brazil, 30 distributors, and more than 6,400 employees, the company has been growing its investments in robotics, automation, and process digitalization. The adoption of SAP’s Sustainability Control Tower will allow the integration of critical sustainability information directly into SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, already in use by the company, transforming static reports into dynamic indicators accessible in real time.
Currently, data collection for the company’s Sustainability Report takes three to four months in a highly manual process. This solution, will reduce time significantly and enable greater reliability, transparency, and governance. SAP’s solution will consolidate environmental metrics such as carbon inventory, water consumption, renewable energy usage, and materials circularity, in addition to social indicators such as diversity, inclusion, and workplace safety. As a result, the report will consolidate all the company’s strategic management decisions.
“Our biggest challenge has always been the consolidation of social and environmental data, which required a lot of time and manual effort. With SAP Sustainability Control Tower, we will have all metrics integrated, from carbon emissions and material circularity to social indicators of diversity and inclusion. This will allow us to produce sustainability snapshots and reports in real time, turning them into a foundation for strategic management decisions,” says Claudemir Brito, Sustainability and ESG Manager at Facchini.
The initiative also addresses a growing demand from the company’s domestic and international customers, who require detailed reports on due diligence processes that can include up to 600 questions. SAP Sustainability Control Tower will reduce the response time from weeks to just a few days, strengthening the company’s competitiveness in increasingly regulated and demanding markets.
According to Pedro Pereira, SAP’s Sustainability Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Facchini positions itself as one of the region’s pioneers by adopting a technology that combines digital transformation with social and environmental responsibility. “The unique value of the Sustainability Control Tower is to transform reports from annual documents to daily management tools. By integrating indicators directly into SAP’s ERP, supported by artificial intelligence and automation tools, the company will have a predictive and strategic vision to accelerate its sustainable growth.”
In addition to speeding up report generation and supporting corporate governance, the project lays the foundation for a new cycle of innovation. Sustainability data will act as living memory and context for artificial intelligence agents that will be able to support human intelligence in creating more assertive strategies, anticipating risks and opportunities in real time.
This project supports Facchini’s goal of reaching 100% renewable energy usage by 2026, expands the company’s well-established circular economy practices – like the reuse of more than 95% of the steel scrap generated – and strengthens its social agenda, which over the past ten years has allocated more than R$ 28 million to community organizations and social projects. The integration between technology and sustainability ensures that the company continues advancing its growth strategy responsibly, consolidating itself as a global reference in innovation and sustainable management.
